Philadelphia Hotels

Author: Kent Pinkerton

Philadelphia, popularly known as "Philly" the "City of Brotherly Love" is the fifth most populous city in the United States and a popular tourist attraction. A city steeped in history, Philadelphia was the place where the first U.S. government was formed and each year thousands of tourists come to the city to visit Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell Pavilion. In the 18th century, the city was the second capital of the country.

Today, Philadelphia is also an important university city with over 120,000 students studying within the city limits alone and nearly 300,000 total college and university students in the metropolitan area. With so many tourists and business visitors descending upon the city, it is only natural that the city has some great hotels. They provide visitors with a comfortable place to relax while visiting.

Many of the larger hotels like the Holiday Inn are located in Philadelphia's historic district. This location enables vacationers to be in close proximity to the National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, and other famous sites. Health and fitness centers, outdoor pools, and free meals for children are among the amenities offered. The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Hotel Center City is another hotel nearby. Its English-style pub, Elephant & Castle, is a great hit with tourists. The rooftop pool has a wonderful view of the area.

The conveniently located Comfort Inn Historic Downtown is another popular Philadelphia hotel close to the Philadelphia International Airport. For an experience of a different kind, visitors love the Hyatt Regency Penn's Landing, near the Delaware River Waterfront, which has convenient ferry access for guests wanting to go sightseeing. Overlooking the Independence National Historic Park is the Omni Hotel that is also close to Philadelphia's beautiful Society Hill.

Almost all hotels give guests the luxury of enjoying a comfortable stay with delicious cuisine and the convenience of visiting the historic monuments.
